Next Amendments in the Constitution On top of the Bill of Rights, there are 17 other amendments to the Constitution. We will go over them all very briefly, only diving deep into a handful of them. Three of those amendments will be analyzed today. Target: Evaluate the remaining amendments and apply them to real world scenarios Success Criteria:
You and your group of 3 will need to answer several analysis questions about each amendment: 1. What rights did this amendment grant to citizens? 2. Who were the rights granted to? 3. Why were these rights created? 4. Did the officials who wrote these amendments do enough? Are there parts of the amendments that should be added to/taken out? The amendments will be given to your group on a piece of paper. You will need these 3 roles in your group:
Bill of Rights - Game Day! Play "Do I Have a Right?" which has been assigned to you on iCivics. Warm-Up: Talk to your partner about which amendment in the Bill of Rights you said was most important and why. Bill of Rights Scenarios You and a small group will be given an amendment from the Bill of Rights. Your group will need to figure out how you can act out the amendment to convey the meaning of the amendment without giving away which amendment you have!
